Igor Dodon, former president and head of the Social Party of Moldova, has said that the country’s incumbent president, Maia Sandu, and the ruling Action and Solidarity party are blocking the media because they cannot stand criticism.
“Maia Sandu and the Action and Solidarity party cannot stand criticism from competitors, they want to create a comfortable media environment. The situation in the country is very difficult, and the Action and Solidarity party hopes that after the closure and censorship of public opinion through the media, people will believe that everything is fine,” Igor Dodon said.
The former Moldovan president stressed that Maia Sandu has turned the state bodies into non-governmental organisations that impose on the country’s citizens what they are supposed to think about. He specified that the country’s citizens understand what is happening.
Earlier, the Information and Security Service of Moldova announced that access to more than 20 Internet resources of the Russian mass media on the territory of Moldova would be blocked. The list includes the websites of the All-Russian State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company, the Mir, NTV, Rossiya Segodnya, REN TV, Zvezda, Vesti and RTR-Planeta TV channels.
