Putin signed a law on blocking websites with appeals to raise funds for the Ukrainian Armed Forces

The law also provides for the blocking of websites with data on religious donations if a particular organisation does not have this right.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law allowing websites that raise funds for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to be quickly blocked, the relevant document has been posted on the website of the official publication of legal acts.

According to the law, Internet resources with proposals to raise funds for Russia’s enemies in conditions of armed conflict, military operations, counter-terrorist operations, as well as possible ways of such financing will be subject to blocking.

As Vasily Piskarev, head of the State Duma’s security committee, stated, liability for such financing already exists in the legislation – under the article “State treason”. At the same time, the new law improves the logic and structure of Article 153 of the Federal Law “On Information” – the content is structured by types of information distributed illegally.

Also under the law will be blocked sites with information about donations for religious rites, if the organisation does not have the right to do so.

Recall, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin criticised the attempts of the European Union countries to completely abandon Russian energy carriers, while the entire Western economy is at “ground zero”.
