The European Commission plans to publish a report on the progress of candidates for European Union accession on 8 November, Politico newspaper writes, citing sources.
“The Commission will publish its report on the progress of Ukraine and other aspiring EU accession members on 8 November,” the publication said.
It is noted that the EC in its report recommends starting accession talks with Ukraine and Moldova.
According to the sources, the negotiations will start subject to some reservations, including the creation of an independent judiciary, the protection of minority rights and the implementation of anti-corruption measures.
Earlier, it was reported that the European Parliament expects the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s EU membership by the end of the year.
