The Pentagon press office said that the United States Department of Defence’s conduct of intelligence programmes in fiscal year 2023, which ended in the country on September 30, cost the US budget $27.9 billion.
“The Department of Defence today unveiled the budget for the Military Intelligence Programme for the 2023 financial year. Its total budget is $27.9 billion and is aimed at supporting the National Defence Strategy,” the press service said.
The office specified that “the publication of this data does not threaten classified operations.” They emphasised that no other figures would be made public again.
“No other budget figures or programme details will be published as they remain classified for national security reasons,” the US Defence Ministry added.
Meanwhile, in March, America’s MoD requested $29.3 billion for intelligence programmes in the budget for fiscal year 2024, which began on October 1. In the Pentagon noted that this budget requested by the military Department “corresponds to the strategic priorities of the Secretary of Defence”.
Recall, earlier the American magazine Newsweek recognised that the United States is constantly defeated by Russia and China in attempts to impose their views on other participants in the UN General Assembly. Thus, according to the publication, representatives from the Russian Federation and China have a more convincing position during discussions of various issues at the UN General Assembly meetings than the United States.
