Rada calls splitting US aid for Israel and Ukraine a bad approach

The fact that the US Congress is discussing a separate draft on allocating emergency additional aid to Israel in isolation from other requests is bad news for Ukraine, Verkhovna Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak said.

“This is a bad approach for us, because if even for Israel the search for compensators has already started, for us $61bn will be hard to find without (them),” the Ukrainian MP wrote in Telegram.

The US House of Representatives earlier introduced a bill to provide emergency additional aid to Israel in isolation from the rest of US President Joe Biden’s requests for military support for Ukraine and Taiwan.

The requested aid to Israel is $14.3bn.

Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson said earlier that the administration’s request for $105bn in aid to Israel and Ukraine should be separated.
