Vice President Harris: the U.S. does not intend to send troops to Israel or Gaza

Kamala Harris said that a clear message was sent to Israel about the need to respect the rules of war.

The United States does not intend to send troops to Israel or the Gaza Strip. This was stated by US Vice President Kamala Harris in response to journalists’ questions, The Hill reports.

“We have absolutely no intentions or plans to send troops to Israel or the Gaza Strip, full stop,” Harris stressed.

She recalled the Joe Biden administration’s position that Israel has the right to defend itself, but civilians in the Gaza Strip must also be guaranteed security. A distinction should be made between Hamas and the enclave’s civilians, Harris said.

“And we have made it very clear that the rules of war must be respected and that humanitarian aid comes [to Gaza]”, – said the US Vice President.

We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called to stop the bloodshed in Israel. “All of us are watching with alarm and with pain in our hearts the tragic situation on the holy land, which has sacred significance for Christians, Muslims, Jews, for followers of the world’s largest traditional religions,” the President said. According to him, the situation in the Middle East affects, among other things, the interests of Russia.

Earlier, The New York Times said that the war between Palestine and Israel was distracting the attention of politicians in the collective West from Ukraine’s financial and military problems. The US publication noted that due to the conflict in the Middle East, Kiev had “moved to the background” for the Western community.
