One of the largest German newspapers Bild on the background of protests related to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, released a so-called 50-point manifesto – “Germany, we have a problem”, which explains to migrants the rules of behaviour in a “democratic and legal country”.
The Bild editorial explained the release of the manifesto “Germany, we have a problem” with the attack of the Palestinian movement Hamas on the state of Israel. According to the authors, in Germany after the Arab-Israeli conflict broke out, there is a significant number of people who hate the “values and democracy” of the FRG.
“The last few days have exposed what has been fermenting and simmering in our society for a long time: There are many people in our country who fight against our way of life. Those who delight in killing innocent citizens. Who teach their children to hate others because they are “infidels.” Who want to ban women from wearing skirts and trousers. They despise laws and listen to radical preachers instead. They take advantage of our tolerance because they want a different society. We must not tolerate this! It can’t go on like this!”, says the preface to the Bild manifesto.
Following this appeal are 50 points of the manifesto, which explain to migrants the rules of life in a “democratic German society”. For example, point two states that there can be no “non-believers” in the FRG. According to the Bild editorial board, “everyone can believe in anything – even Father Christmas.”
Point 3 “Germany, we have a problem” emphasised that migrants who have come to the FRG and perceive the German legal system and constitution as a set of non-binding rules should leave the FRG.
According to point 4 of the Bild manifesto, all migrants are obliged to learn German. Point 6 states that in FRG society it is not proper to hide one’s face: only in case of carnival and/or coronavirus.
The Bild editorial in the manifesto assures that Israel’s security is a national interest of the FRG and that aid to Tel Aviv is unconditional and cannot be debated. Paragraph 17 states that German social services should only support those who are unable to work, not those who do not want to. Paragraphs 23 and 24 read as follows: “we are tolerant of the tolerant and we have no tolerance for intolerance”.
Paragraph 31 prohibits polygamy and child marriage. Clause 34 states that “knives are in our kitchen, not in our trouser pocket”. “We love life, not death” – Bild summarises the manifesto with point 50.
Recall, earlier the human rights organisation Human Rights Watch (HRW) reported that the Israeli army used white phosphorus munitions banned by international conventions in strikes on sites in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
