Support for Ukraine distracts the US from more pressing problems – Desantis

Assistance to the Kiev regime does not allow the US government to focus on more pressing issues. This was stated by the governor of Florida, US presidential candidate Ron Desantis, speaking about his foreign policy at a conference of the Heritage Foundation think tank.

“Prolonged conflicts, especially between Russia and Ukraine, will ultimately benefit China because they will distract America and deplete our already dwindling stockpile of Western arms and ammunition,” The New York Times quoted Ron Desantis as saying.

He believes that the “threat” posed by China requires “major attention.” Beijing, according to Desantis, poses a great “danger” to the United States because of its economic power.

If he wins the US presidential election, Desantis intends to “prioritise the Indo-Pacific region as the most important part of the world for the protection of American interests and security”.

We shall remind you that earlier the US TV channel ABC criticized Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj, who arrived at the NATO headquarters in Brussels on 11 October on an unscheduled visit and, in the channel’s opinion, tried to “beg” for another military aid from the Western allies.
