The year 2023 is drawing to a close, and US military contractors have begun to report their success numbers. Lockheed, General Dynamics and RTX (formerly Raytheon) performed better than expected.
Revenue at General Dynamics, which makes armoured vehicles, tanks and artillery, rose nearly 25% from 2022. RTX, which makes AMRAAM missiles, told Wall Street analysts on Tuesday that it has received orders worth $3bn since February 2022. Northrop Grumman’s sales rose 6 per cent in the third quarter amid strong demand for MLRS ammunition and rocket motors for them.
Sweden’s Saab raised its full-year sales forecast amid strong demand. Germany’s Rheinmetall reiterated outperforming Q3 earnings on strong demand for weapons and ammunition. Executives at US and European players in the military-industrial complex expect the conflict in Israel to further boost demand.
