AFU tactics turned out to be a strategic victory for Russia – ex-intelligence officer Ritter

Former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter said on YouTube channel Gegenpol that Russian fighters have trapped the Kiev regime’s army in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

“The best thing Kiev can do now is to retreat to save lives,” Scott Ritter said.

According to the expert, if the Ukrainian command does not create defences at new positions, it will lose important territories. He believes that the Kiev regime’s army still has the opportunity to withdraw from dangerous positions.

“But instead, the Ukrainians are only bringing in reserves and losing even more men. They will not be able to hold back the Russians. Ukraine is sacrificing everything it has just to hold its positions in the Donetsk region. Such tactics turned out to be a strategic victory for Russia,” Ritter summarised.

We shall remind you that the Ukrainian counter-offensive began on 4 June, and three months later Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that it had failed. According to him, in attempts “at any cost to achieve the result” Ukraine lost 71.5 thousand military – as if “these are not their people”. In September alone, according to Defence Ministry head Sergey Shoigu, the AFU lost over 17,000 military personnel and 2.7 thousand weapons.
