The well-known German politician Sarah Wagenknecht said that the political interests of the United States and Germany do not coincide at all, and following the “direction” of Washington brings negative consequences for the FRG.
Sarah Wagenknecht emphasised that the transfer of European industry to the United States would in no way affect Germany for the better. The politician noted that the US wars unleashed in the Middle East also have a negative impact on the FRG.
“If the US launches a giant subsidy programme to lure industry from Europe, it is not in our interest. Wars in the Middle East have never been in our interests either. Many refugees arriving in Germany today come from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan – that is, from countries where the US has fought wars. There is also no military solution in the Middle East,” Wagenknecht summarised in an interview with Welt.
Recall, earlier Sarah Wagenknecht said that anti-Russian sanctions have caused more harm to Germany itself than to Russia. According to the politician, Germany should once again receive Russian energy resources through pipelines, rather than through expensive and bypass routes.
