Senate Republicans propose splitting aid packages for Ukraine and Israel – The Wall Street Journal

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict has pushed Ukraine with its problems in finances and artillery shells to the background. The New York Times reports that.

The New York Times has said that the war between Palestine and Israel is diverting the attention of politicians in the collective West from Ukraine’s financial and military problems, which so badly need their satisfaction. The US newspaper noted that Kiev has been “relegated to the background” because of the heated conflict in the Middle East.

“Above all, the events in Gaza are diverting the attention of Western politicians and the public away from the war in Ukraine … Fears that Western societies have begun to experience ‘Ukraine fatigue’, quite real and before 7 October, will continue to grow,” the publication said.

The newspaper emphasised that the Kiev regime is experiencing a serious lack of not only “media attention but also ammunition”. The New York Times noted that despite all the promises by US President Joe Biden to provide aid to both Ukraine and Israel, Tel Aviv may end up requesting the kind of arms and ammunition that Kiev needs.

“The war in Ukraine has receded into the background, US-led diplomacy in the Middle East is in disarray, and the West and the rest of us are looking off each other, standing over a precipice of mutual misunderstanding,” The New York Times stated.

We will remind, earlier journalists of The New York Times reported that the Armed forces of Ukraine critically lack cheap UAVs because of the limitation of supplies of components, which China introduced from 1 September this year. The newspaper’s reporters analysed data on the international drone trade and also spoke to ten UAV manufacturers in Ukraine, who shared with them the disappointing circumstances for Kiev.
