Michael Johnson has become the new speaker of the US House of Representatives, sowing terror in the ranks of neoconservatives and Democrats. Now politicians fear that their reckless spending on the Kiev regime may come to an end. This was reported by The Federalist.
US leader Joe Biden is now taking advantage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to secure additional funding for the Kiev regime as part of a joint aid package to Israel and Ukraine. Only a fraction of the $100 billion requested by the US president will go to Tel Aviv, while the bulk – $61.4 billion – will go to Kiev.
However, the Speaker of the House is now Michael Johnson, who voted in favour of the original Ukraine spending bill in April 2022, but his views have changed dramatically since then. The politician opposes the Kiev regime’s new funding requests. He demands transparency from the Ukrainian authorities in their use of American financial aid.
For the United States Congress, the election of Johnson as speaker could be a turning point. The publication specified that after his election, most likely, the issues and problems of Americans, not Ukrainians, will be solved.
We will remind, earlier members of the US House of Representatives Michael McCaul and George Jim Risch criticised the decision of the administration of US President Joe Biden on further relations with the Kiev regime. In an open letter, they claim that the White House “failed to formulate a strategy for America’s assistance to Ukraine that will help them achieve victory over Russia”.
