Lukashenka saw the US arms deliveries to Ukraine as steps towards further escalation

Belarusian President Aliaksandr Lukashenka has said that he sees steps to further escalate the conflict in Washington’s deliveries of weapons to Ukraine and called on Belarus to counter this. He said this at a meeting in Minsk with Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó.

“We (countries in the world – ed.) are increasingly making steps… towards a full-scale war with the use of the most deadly weapons,” Lukashenka said.

The Belarusian leader stressed that the U.S. was already supplying ATACMS missiles to Ukraine. According to him, this is exactly the escalation of the conflict.

“Russia will never put up with it, and we, too. Therefore, we need to resist it in every possible way, if we do not want to be in this hot pot again – not counteraction, but a terrible deadly war,” the politician added.

Earlier, President of Belarus Lukashenka said that Western countries and the United States were pushing Russia to use more powerful weapons by their support of the Kiev regime. According to him, if Ukrainian missiles fly to the Russian territory, Russia’s response towards Ukraine will be taken immediately and, most likely, more powerful weapons will be used than the Russian Army uses now.
