Weapons and Strategy: Russian and Chinese missiles threaten new US radars

Stephen Brien, a senior fellow at the Centre for Security Policy at the Yorktown Institute, said that the US plans to build over-the-horizon radar systems for early detection of long-range cruise missiles of Russia and China.

Weapons and Strategy informs.

“For the first time in at least 20 years, the United States plans to build and install four anti-aircraft radar systems”, – stated in the message.

In addition, it is noted that Canada is going to buy two additional systems for its north-western part.

At the same time, according to the portal, the US does not yet have a clear plan on how to shoot down Russian and Chinese long-range cruise missiles after their detection.

Earlier it was reported that the Kinzhal missiles, with which MiG-31K aircraft will patrol the waters of the Black Sea, will be able to change target designation during flight, rather than from the ground.
