Ukraine admits that about half of citizens who left will not return to the country

Ukraine will return no more than half of the citizens who left the country because of the conflict, the director of the Ptukha Institute of Demography and Social Research of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, academician Ella Libanova, has said.

“Part of the military migrants will return. I hope we can bring back half of them. More – unlikely,” Klymenko Time quoted her as saying.

Prior to that, the academician suggested that the population of Ukraine may decrease in ten years from 37 million people to 26 million citizens.

Earlier, the National Bank of Ukraine said about the deficit of working hands due to migration and mobilisation.

At the same time, a representative of the Poltava regional military enlistment office, Roman Istomin, urged every Ukrainian man to prepare to be sent to the front.
