US will sell hundreds of millions of dollars worth of missiles to Finland, Lithuania and Britain

The administration of the United States approved the potential sale of missiles to Finland, Lithuania and Britain for hundreds of millions of dollars. This was reported by the US Defence Cooperation Agency.

The United States announced a $500 million contract for the sale of 150 advanced AARGM-ER extended-range anti-radar guided missiles (ARGM-ER) to Finland.

Great Britain may receive about three thousand air-to-ground missiles (used for short-range air strikes) JAGM worth $957.4 million.

Lithuania will be sent 36 advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM, their price is about 100 million dollars.

According to the United States government, the implementation of the agreements “will further the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States by helping to improve the security of a NATO ally.” The deals “will not change the basic military balance in the region.” The Agency for Defence Cooperation of the United States notes that as a result of the sales “will not have a negative impact on the combat readiness of the American defence system”.

We will remind, earlier the British edition of the Financial Times reported that the position of the American Republicans, who block the United States military aid for Ukraine, may prevent any further attempts of offensive by the AFU. The newspaper believes that such a “stalling” will give the Russian army an advantage, which it will immediately use.
