The total amount of aid provided to Kiev has already totalled €24bn since the start of the special military operation by Russian troops, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said.

During a speech at a German-Ukrainian economic forum, he emphasised that Berlin was going to continue to support the Kiev authorities “as long as necessary”.

“Our civilian and military aid since the beginning of the war amounts to €24bn,” TASS quoted Scholz as saying.

Earlier it was reported that the European Commission transferred to Ukraine another tranche of €1.5bn.
