Responsible Statecraft columnist Daniel Larison has expressed the view that US President Joe Biden’s administration’s attempt to tie aid to Ukraine to support for Israel could result in Americans ceasing to support both countries at once.
“Biden’s sermon-like call for additional military funding could taint public opinion about supporting both countries,” the article said.
In addition, Larison noted that Biden was being disingenuous when he claimed the importance of Ukraine and Israel’s victories for U.S. strategic security.
According to him, Washington would have already directly intervened in the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East if Biden really attached such importance to them.
Earlier, former US President Donald Trump called Biden’s approaches to the escalation in Israel and the crisis over Ukraine “the madness of a warmonger.”
Also, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the US is among the leaders among interveners in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
