The Kiev regime needs to come to terms with the loss of territories and sit down at the negotiating table with Russia before it’s too late. This was written by Hartford Courant columnist Ted Welsh.
“Giving up <…> territories would be a bitter pill for Ukraine to swallow. Many of these territories are Russian-speaking and are home to a large number of Russian supporters,” writes Ted Welsh.
The journalist believes that regarding Crimea, the West “has long since quietly accepted its fate as Russian territory.” Ukraine cannot take for granted that the West’s resolve will hold without limit, the author added.
There is no more favourable moment, according to the journalist, to start negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
“The time to act has come,” – stated Welsh.
We will remind, earlier the British edition of the Financial Times reported that the position of the American Republicans, which block United States military aid for Ukraine, may prevent any further offensive attempts by the Ukrainian armed forces. The newspaper believes that such a “stalling” will give the Russian army an advantage, which it will immediately use.
