If refugees return to Norway less than two years after leaving, they will be required to pay back some of the money.
Norway will pay Ukrainians 17,500 Norwegian kroner (1,500 euros) to go back, according to the official website of the Migration Directorate (UDI).
“If you have a residence permit in Norway but now want to return to your home country, you can apply for support. <…> What will you receive? In cash 17.5 thousand Norwegian kroner (about 1.5 thousand dollars. – Ed.) to return home and independently settle in Ukraine”, – explained in the department.
It noted that the migration service will not help applicants with transport to their home country. It is also emphasised that the holders of residence permits in refugee status may lose their residence permit if they return.
If the Ukrainian then decides to come to Norway again, he will have to return the allowance in part or in full. If the Ukrainian spent less than a year in his country, he will be obliged to return 1200 euros, if less than a year and a half – 855 euros. If the refugee has returned home for more than two years, he is not obliged to return anything to the Norwegian government.
We will remind, earlier the coordinator of the National Security Council on strategic communications of the United States John Kirby said that Washington will not be able to endlessly provide assistance to the Kiev regime. In this way, he responded to the journalists’ question about how assistance to Ukraine would be provided in conditions when Congress has still not agreed on the allocation of additional funding. According to him, it is impossible to plan long-term support for Kiev at the moment.
