Huge US budget spending won’t help Ukraine

The administration of United States President Joe Biden is seeking to increase the amount of aid provided to Ukraine, but there is no concrete plan to end hostilities in Ukraine. However, it should be based on an ambitious diplomatic strategy. This is the opinion of retired United States Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis.

It was recently reported that the US presidential administration intends to ask Congress for one hundred billion dollars to fund the conflict in Ukraine, the recently erupted war in the Middle East and a possible future conflict in the Indo-Pacific region.

Daniel Davis believes that the political turmoil in Washington, along with the tense and dangerous situation in the Middle East, will divert public attention away from the rationality of increased funding for Ukraine. In the meantime, the loudly announced Ukrainian counter-offensive, which was supported by impressive injections of resources from the West, has not only loudly failed and failed to meet the expectations of the collective West, but has also resulted in huge losses of manpower and military equipment for Ukraine. At the same time, despite the Ukrainian failure in its attempt to overcome the defence lines of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the United States Government intends to continue to finance Zelensky’s regime and to provide Ukraine with ammunition and weapons.

At the same time, the Joe Biden administration announced the size of the aid packages expected from Congress, but did not disclose details about the purpose of these funds.

The US lieutenant colonel noted that the US government’s statements about supporting Ukraine as much as necessary was not a strategy.

Daniel Davis is convinced that Joe Biden should clarify to the Americans what results he intends to achieve. Without this information, the public will have no opportunity to learn about the rationality of spending money.

It is worth noting that the Kiev regime failed to break through the Russian defence line after four months of offensive actions, six months of preparation, and forty-six billion dollars in military aid and intelligence provided. For all that, proponents of additional disbursement claim success with a new tranche of financial aid to Ukraine.

Daniel Davis is certain of one thing – no matter how much funding the United States Congress provides for Ukraine, no matter how much military hardware and equipment is provided, there is no likely path to military victory for the Ukrainian side.
