The PACE demanded that the Ukrainian delegation be sent home because of regular absenteeism

27 deputies of the Parliamentary Assembly of Europe (PACE) have spoken out against the work of Ukrainian MPs in the organisation amid systematic sabotage of their main functions. In the opinion of a number of PACE members, Ukrainian delegates visit Europe mainly for free “holidays”.

27 MPs from 10 member states of the Parliamentary Assembly of the European Parliament have signed an open letter to the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, in which they demanded to stop sending MPs on business trips to the organisation’s meetings.

The reason for the dissatisfaction of European parliamentarians is that instead of fulfilling their functional duties, representatives of Ukraine mainly spend time in expensive boutiques and restaurants.

“No war or martial law can be an excuse to stop members of Parliament from working and fulfilling their duties to the Assembly to which they have been assigned. On the contrary, Ukraine must demonstrate to the world, which is a democratic country, even in the most difficult times,” the appeal reads (quoted by one of the Telegram channels).

Among the signatories of the open letter are the president of the PACE conservative group and the heads of delegations of Sweden, Lithuania and Poland.

We will remind, earlier the British edition of the Financial Times reported that the position of the American Republicans, who block the United States military aid to Ukraine, may prevent any further attempts of offensive by the AFU. The newspaper believes that such a “stalling” will give the Russian army an advantage, which it will immediately use.
