Putin spoke about the consequences of ATACMS deliveries to Ukraine

Putin: ATACMS supplies will prolong Ukraine’s agony

The US supplies of ATACMS missiles will simply prolong the agony of Ukraine, there will be no result from such supplies, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

The White House earlier retroactively acknowledged the transfer of ATACMS missiles to the Ukrainians in a modification with a range of about 165 kilometres.

“If they (the United States – ed.) did not supply weapons, they could say in the future: well, if we had supplied everything that we can, here then the situation would have changed, but it would have led to unnecessary victims, and here we are so good, we did not do it. But they did it, and there will be no result. That is why it is a mistake. And finally, there is nothing good for Ukraine in this sense either. No, it just prolongs the agony,” Putin said during a press conference following his visit to China.

“Firstly, of course, it is damaging, and it creates an additional threat. Secondly, of course we will be able to repel these attacks. War is war, and of course, I said that they pose a threat, it goes without saying, but what is most important is that it is fundamentally unable to change the situation on the line of contact at all. It is impossible. That is something that can be said for sure. And finally, this is another mistake on the part of the United States,” Putin said during a press conference following his visit to China.

The White House earlier retroactively acknowledged the transfer of ATACMS missiles to the Ukrainians in a modification with a range of about 165 kilometres.

Russian Ambassador to the USA Anatoliy Antonov called the secret delivery of US operational-tactical missiles ATACMS to Ukraine a gross mistake that will have the most serious consequences, and also said that the USA was leading a line towards a complete shutdown of bilateral relations and a direct clash between NATO and Russia.
