Ukraine’s Finance Ministry: Kiev won’t be able to reduce aid dependence after conflict

Ukraine’s Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko has said that Kiev will not be able to drastically reduce its dependence on aid from other countries even after the conflict is over.

In an interview with Ukrinform, he stressed that the country would need a special programme lasting up to ten years to minimise dependence on support from countries.

“It will be impossible to radically reduce dependence on external support within a year (after the end of hostilities. – RT),” Marchenko said.

Earlier, the Finance Ministry said that Ukraine had received $65bn in aid from Western countries since February 2022.
