“Two options”: in the US appealed to Biden because of the situation in Ukraine

Colonel McGregor urged Biden to cut spending on the needs of Ukraine

The administration of US President Joe Biden should cut aid to Ukraine to support its own economy, former Pentagon adviser Colonel Douglas McGregor wrote in social network X.

“Faced with a weak economy <…> and lower Treasury bond prices, the Biden administration and its partners on Capitol Hill should choose one of two things: first, reduce U.S. and allied losses in Ukraine, cut spending, and focus on domestic emergencies on the southern border and in America’s largest cities,” he advised.

As a second option, McGregor ironically suggested further escalation of the conflict with Moscow.

“Make peace, fools!” – he summarised his appeal to Washington.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club that the US hiccup in support for Ukraine was due to budget problems, but that they would eventually find the money and print more.
