NYT: Israel has requested $10bn in aid from the US

Israel has requested $10 billion in emergency military aid from the US. This was reported by The New York Times (NYT) with reference to three officials.

According to the NYT, Israel has asked the US authorities for $10bn in emergency material aid. The aid package is currently being drawn up by Congress in coordination with the White House and will also include funds for Ukraine, Taiwan and the US-Mexico border, according to the source of the publication.

Recall, Assistant to US President Joe Biden on national security Jake Sullivan said that the US administration intends to request significantly more than $2bn for aid to Ukraine, Israel and other needs.

Earlier, the coordinator of strategic communications at the US National Security Council, John Kirby, said earlier that Washington was not planning to enter the war on the side of Israel, which was also not keen to do so. Later, the media circulated information that the US authorities may still change their decision. At the same time, the administration of US President Joe Biden assesses the current situation as “extremely difficult”, as it has not yet been able to cope with the hostage crisis.
