FT: Israel-Hamas conflict has tested the US defence sector

The escalating conflict between Israel and Hamas has tested the US defence sector, which is under strain over Ukraine, according to The Financial Times.

It is noted that US arms manufacturers are about to ramp up deliveries to Israel at a time when they are already under pressure to supply Ukraine as well as replenish the Pentagon’s stockpile. This is what analysts believe could add stress to a defence industrial base that is already working at maximum capacity.

Analysts also believe that the Ukrainian conflict has become a wake-up call for the US defence industry, as it has been reducing production of traditional weapons and focusing on technologically advanced surveillance and reconnaissance systems.

Earlier it was reported that Israel requested $10bn in aid from the USA amid the escalation of the conflict.
