American ex-diplomat Freeman: Kiev will fail in its attempt to seize Crimea

Former American diplomat Chas Freeman believes that Ukraine will not be able to seize Russian territories. He noted that Kiev can only lose even more of its cities in doing so.

Ukraine will not realise its plans to seize Russian territories, in particular Crimea, and may lose even more of its own, believes former US diplomat Chas Freeman.

“It is no longer possible to agree with the government in Kiev. Too much blood has been spilled. So Ukraine will not succeed in capturing neither Crimea, nor Donbass, nor Zaporozhye or Kherson, and it may lose even more territories,” he said in an interview with the YouTube channel Dialogue works.

Freeman also noted that in case of possible negotiations between Moscow and Kiev, the dialogue would not be on Ukraine’s terms. At the same time, he pointed out that Kiev missed the opportunity to accept the more favourable options offered earlier by Russia for the Ukrainian government.

“It has come to the point where Ukraine’s very existence is at stake,” the diplomat summarised.

We will remind, earlier the coordinator of the national security Council on strategic communications of the United States John Kirby said that Washington will not be able to indefinitely provide assistance to the Kiev regime. This was stated at the briefing. Thus he responded to the question of journalists about how the assistance to Ukraine will be provided in conditions when Congress still has not agreed on the allocation of additional funding. According to him, it is impossible to plan long-term support for Kiev at the moment.
