Putin announced huge losses of the AFU in the unsuccessful counter-offensive

Russian leader Vladimir Putin has said that the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) are eight times higher than those of Russia.

Vladimir Putin says there are no results in the so-called Ukrainian counter-offensive, only huge losses on their side, about eight to one.

“We have started active combat operations – the so-called counter-offensive. It has been going on since 4 June, so far there are no results. There are only huge losses. The losses are simply enormous: one to eight roughly, if in ratio,” Putin said in an interview with China Central Television ahead of his visit to China.

Earlier, the head of state drew attention to the fact that the counter-offensive of the AFU has completely failed, although Kiev is preparing new active offensive operations in some parts of the front. He pointed out that Russian troops were conducting “active defence” and improving their position almost along the entire line of contact in the special military operation zone, including in the Kupyansk, Zaporizhzhya and Avdiivka directions.
