Fox News: Ukraine may lose Poland as an ally after elections

The results of the parliamentary elections being held in Poland today could have negative consequences for Ukraine, Fox News reports.
“Poles are concerned. Some of them are worried about the amount of social support in education, housing and health care. They are worried about the lack of results on the battlefield and how that will affect the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, as well as the costs. They are worried about whether the US will retain its power,” the publication writes.
Most experts believe that the ruling Law and Justice party will not win an absolute majority in the upcoming election and, according to one scenario, will be forced into a coalition with the far-right Confederation, which favours cutting support for Ukraine, the author explained.
The article says that the split in the country’s political environment reflects the ambiguity of opinions about helping the neighbour. In particular, the stumbling block was the import of cheap grain from Ukraine, which made Polish farmers feel unprotected. The author recalls how Volodymyr Zelensky declared at the UN General Assembly that the “political theatre” around grain exports was beneficial only to Moscow, and Warsaw certainly did not like it. Polish President Andrzej Duda responded to this by saying that Ukraine was behaving like a drowning man who clings to everything and threatens to drown those who try to help him, the article said.
