Ex-US intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that the failed counter-offensive of the AFU fighters seriously hit NATO’s combat capability. He said this in an interview with the YouTube channel “Danny Haiphong”.
“The point is that NATO has completely emptied its ammunition. <…> They have almost nothing left that they can give away without damaging themselves or reducing their combat effectiveness,” Ritter said.
The former US intelligence officer cites as an example Germany, which is no longer capable of conducting large ground military operations in Europe. Countries that claim to have some equipment and ammunition are deprived of them in ten days, or even sooner, in the event of a full-fledged armed conflict. According to Ritter, Washington is in a similar situation.
Recall that earlier Scott Ritter said that the head of the Kiev regime Volodymyr Zelensky ordered the Ukrainian troops to follow the NATO strategy during the counter-offensive, as a result of which they failed completely.
The military bloc’s tactics consist in direct massive strikes on the enemy to break through the defence line, instead of individual sorties by small groups, the expert explained. In Scott Ritter’s opinion, the North Atlantic alliance has set artificial time limits for the Ukrainian offensive due to the growing fatigue from the conflict and the depletion of its own weapons stocks.
