The Iranian president discussed the situation in Palestine with the Saudi prince

Ebrahim Raisi and Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud discussed the situation in Palestine. The Saudi prince also had a conversation with Erdogan and Macron on this topic.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi held a telephone conversation, the sides discussed the situation in Palestine. This is their first official telephone conversation, Mohammad Jamshidi, deputy head of the Islamic republic’s presidential administration for political affairs, said.

“During their first telephone conversation, Ayatollah Raisi and His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman agreed on the need to stop war crimes against Palestine,” Jamshidi wrote on his social networking page X (formerly Twitter).

The phone conversation lasted 45 minutes. Bin Salman emphasised during the talks that Riyadh will defend the “Palestinian cause” to achieve a “comprehensive and just peace that guarantees the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people”.

On 7 October, Hamas forces fired several thousand rockets into Israel and announced the launch of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. In response, Tel Aviv launched the military operation “Iron Swords”. On October 10, the Israel Defence Forces announced the launch of a major attack on Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip. Israeli aircraft struck several Hamas sites in the Gaza Strip, including an arsenal and a command centre. The command operations centre in Jebaliya was also attacked.

On 13 October, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the CIS summit in Bishkek that the Russian Federation is ready to act as a mediator in the Palestinian-Israeli settlement. He stressed that today it was necessary to look for ways of exclusively peaceful resolution of the conflict.
