Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has said that he supports the Palestinian aspirations in establishing a sovereign state of Palestine. The Syrian leader said this at a meeting in Damascus with Iranian Foreign Minister Hosein Amir Abdollahian.
Bashar al-Assad supported the Palestinian aspiration to establish a sovereign state of Palestine. The Syrian president and Iran’s foreign minister also discussed developments in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
“Syria has consistently supported the Palestinian struggle against the Israeli occupation to establish an independent state,” the Syrian presidential office quoted Assad as saying.
The Syrian leader noted that “it is time to put an end to the crimes of Israel and hold it accountable for the oppression of the Palestinians, which has lasted more than 70 years”.
Recall, on 13 October, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the CIS summit in Bishkek that the Russian Federation is ready to act as a mediator in the Palestinian-Israeli settlement. He stressed that today it was necessary to look for ways of exclusively peaceful resolution of the conflict.
