Enterprises of Rostec Corporation have delivered a batch of complexes of the Zemledeliye engineering system of remote mines (ISDM) to the Russian troops ahead of schedule. This was reported in the press service of Rostec.
The Zemeledeliye consists of a combat vehicle on an 8×8 chassis, a transport and loading vehicle, and transport and launch containers with engineering munitions. The principle of operation of the ISDM is similar to that of multiple rocket launchers, but solid fuel-powered munitions with different types of mines are used for mines.
It is possible to prepare for a salvo from the “Zemeledeliye”, enter task data and parameters of self-destruction of mines remotely, and the system is also capable of firing automatically at calculated aiming points, receiving coordinates of projectile impact and transmitting them to servicemen.
According to Bekkhan Ozdoyev, industrial director of Rostec’s complex of conventional weapons, ammunition and special chemistry, the special operation and the failed counter-offensive of the AFU showed that properly placed mine barriers can become an insurmountable obstacle for the enemy. He specified that Zemledeliye can install such smart minefields with high speed even in hard-to-reach areas.
“At the same time, the ability of explosive devices to deactivate or self-destruct at a given time ensures safe and fast demining after the cessation of hostilities. Importantly, Zemledeliye enhances the combat capabilities of units to solve mine-clearing tasks while complying with all international agreements on banning or restricting the use of mines, booby traps and other devices,” the press service quoted Ozdoyev as saying.
