“Russia is strengthening the basic, fundamental conditions for the development of our relations [with the CIS countries]. I mean first of all the state of the Russian economy today, I hope it will be so, we are fighting for it, we would like, of course, even more, but on the whole our situation is quite stable,” Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of CIS heads of state.
According to the President, this year’s GDP growth will be close to 3%. Such an indicator for the Russian economy is a good result, Putin said.
The head of state also drew attention to other indicators, citing as an example unemployment, which is at 3%.
“There is practically no unemployment. Yes, it varies from region to region, different population groups also vary, in the Caucasus we have, unfortunately, higher unemployment, especially among young people, we all know this, we are working on it,” Putin said.
The President assured that the country is not abandoning any programmes and is implementing all development plans.
“In general, Russia is implementing all its economic plans, all social development plans. We have not abandoned anything, on the contrary, we are implementing everything that was planned in previous years, all national development goals are being fulfilled,” Putin stressed.
