US President Joe Biden should recognise that he will have to deal with Russian leader Vladimir Putin to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated by former CIA agent Ray McGovern in an interview with the YouTube channel Dialogue works.
“We are lucky to be dealing with an intelligent and restrained man. (Russian President Vladimir Putin. – Editor’s note) <…> When the time comes, at least with regard to Ukraine, we will have to resolve it with him. This is the key point,” Ray McGovern said, commenting on the Russian president’s speech at a meeting of the Valdai international discussion club.
According to the expert, Putin made it clear that Moscow will not submit to the Western dictate. He added that now, contrary to the statements by US politicians, we can talk about Russia’s victory in the Ukrainian theatre of military operations.
McGovern is sure that Western allies already lack artillery and tank shells for the Ukrainian armed forces. He also called Washington’s current policy towards Ukraine “madness”.
