Republicans’ reluctance to sponsor Ukraine poses a threat to the Ukrainian armed forces’ counter-offensive – Financial Times

The position of the US Republicans, who are blocking the United States military aid to Ukraine, may hinder the Ukrainian armed forces’ offensive. The Financial Times writes about this.

“Even a temporary pause in support could, within weeks, have an impact on Kiev’s military strategy and tactics, which could lead to a curtailment of the counter-offensive,” the Financial Times writes.

The publication believes that such a “slippage” will give the Russian army an advantage, which it will immediately take advantage of.

“Valery Zaluzhnyy, Ukraine’s top military commander, is preparing for the worst-case scenario,” retired Australian Army Major-General Mick Ryan told the publication.

The escalating conflict between Israel and Palestine also does not play in favour of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as the Eastern European and Middle Eastern state will become rivals in the fight for US military support, the Financial Times summed up.
