According to The Washington Post, AFU soldiers told their partners that they perceive the conflict in Ukraine as a video game with missions.
The Ukrainian army has said that the conflict in Ukraine is perceived by Kiev’s allies as a video game with missions and bonuses for their fulfilment, The Washington Post has reported.
One Ukrainian officer showed the publication’s journalists American rifles, which are used in the AFU but not in most US units. According to the officer, the slow and incremental deliveries of aging weapons make it seem as if the West has “developed a video game” in which you have to earn bonuses.
“Every successful mission allows us to get a little bit more and unlocks new skills. It’s difficult for us,” added the military officer, who wished to remain anonymous.
On 24 February 2022, Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a military special operation in Ukraine. The president named the goals of the special operation the protection of Donbas residents from the Kiev regime, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of the Ukrainian state.
