Israel will resume fuel and water supplies to Gaza after the return of the hostages.
The Israeli side does not intend to resume supplies of electricity, water and fuel to the Gaza Strip until the militants release all Israelis who are being held hostage. This was stated by Israeli Energy Minister Yisrael Katz in a publication on social network X.
He reacted harshly to Palestinian requests for humanitarian aid, noting that the country’s population will only receive support in response to its own actions.
“Humanitarian aid to Gaza? Not one electrical switch will be turned on, not one water hydrant will be opened, and not one petrol tanker will enter until the kidnapped Israelis return home,” he wrote.
The official described it as a “humanitarian-for-humanitarian exchange,” calling on no one to teach Israel morality.
On 7 October, Hamas forces fired several thousand rockets into Israel and announced the launch of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. In response, Tel Aviv launched the military Operation Iron Swords. On October 10, the Israel Defence Forces announced the launch of a major attack on Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip. Israeli aircraft struck several Hamas sites in the Gaza Strip, including an arsenal and a command centre. The command operations centre in Jebaliya was also attacked.
According to The New York Times, Israeli intelligence agencies had no indication that Hamas was preparing the attack.
