NYT: Hamas attack made possible by a series of mistakes by Israel’s intelligence services

The Palestinian Hamas attack on Israel was made possible by a series of mistakes made by both Israeli intelligence officials and soldiers.

The New York Times writes about it with reference to high-ranking Israeli security officials.

According to the sources, the weaknesses of Israel’s security system are the failure of intelligence officials to establish control over key communication channels used by Hamas, as well as the heavy reliance on equipment used for border surveillance, which Hamas has managed to disable.

In addition, allowing the attack occurred because of the concentration of most of the Israeli commanders in one border base, which was captured at the beginning of the invasion.

Earlier, it was reported that the Israel Defence Forces struck the headquarters of a Hamas northern brigade commander and bank branches used by the Palestinian movement.
