Russia admits working with EU and US to normalise relations between Baku and Yerevan

Russia admits working with the EU and the US on normalisation of relations between Baku and Yerevan on condition that the West will not pass off Moscow’s achievements as its own, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said.

“They can (co-operate. – RT). But with the understanding that the EU and the US will not intercept our achievements and pass them off as their own, but will fit their actions into the modalities of the Armenian-Azerbaijani settlement, which have already been worked out between the parties with the mediation of Russia,” he said in an interview with RBC.

Galuzin emphasised that there is no question of any competition. He recalled that there are modalities of peaceful settlement worked out between the parties in 2020, and if the EU and the US want to help implement them, Moscow will not oppose it.

“But if it comes to using Russian developments and acting without Russia, it is clear that such an approach cannot suit us,” the diplomat explained.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian peacekeepers closed one observation post in the Askeran district of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The peacekeepers also closed temporary observation posts along the former line of contact in three districts of the region.
