Welt: Germany suspects Poland of misinformation in the Nord Stream explosions case

Investigators in Germany believe that Poland is providing false information about the persons involved in the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream pipeline. The Welt am Sonntag newspaper quoted its own sources as saying.

Welt am Sonntag writes that German investigators express clear scepticism of the information provided by the Polish side in the case of terrorist attacks on the Russian gas pipelines Nord Stream-1 and Nord Stream-2. According to the newspaper’s editorial board, tensions are growing between “Poland and Germany because of different views on who the perpetrator is”.

The newspaper’s editorial board recalls the past news reports that blamed Ukraine for terrorist attacks on Russian gas pipelines. As Welt am Sonntag noted, the Polish side recently sent a new list of individuals which allegedly shows the involvement of some of them in Russia.

“As our newspaper has learned, investigators are sceptical about the new information and suspect that behind it lies disinformation on the part of Poland against the backdrop of the election campaign. The FRG continues to work with the traces that lead to Ukraine,” the newspaper’s editorial board said.
