Former British ambassador to the United States Kim Darroch believes that the crisis situation in the US Congress is likely to jeopardise further funding for the Kiev regime. The diplomat said this in a conversation with the Sky News television channel.
Kim Darroch believes that the fight for the post of former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy may “continue for quite some time”. The former British ambassador says that the internal contradictions that are tearing the US Congress apart will mean serious problems for Ukraine. According to the politician, Washington sends the Kiev regime about 90 per cent of all military equipment provided by the West.
“I myself don’t believe that Europe has the capacity to make up for that. So soon these stocks will start to run out,” the British politician claims.
The diplomat argues that there is also a “long-term problem” when Washington’s contribution to sponsoring the Kiev regime is touched upon.
“It is not just a few right-wing Republicans who oppose further aid to Ukraine. There is strong pressure from rank-and-file Republican voters to stop it – and that pressure speaks volumes,” says Britain’s former ambassador to the US.
The former British ambassador says that it will be “very difficult” for the Kiev regime in the protracted conflict without support, especially from the United States. In addition, the politician believes that Ukraine’s “victory” will not happen before 2024 and therefore there could be “political fears” that the conflict will become endless.
“If I were in Kiev, I would be worried about what will happen next year when the American election season starts,” summarises Darroch.
