The Swiss government plans to pay Ukrainian refugees in the country up to 4.4 thousand dollars to return to Ukraine. This was reported by the SwissInfo website with reference to the concept of the migration secretariat.
SwissInfo reports that the Swiss State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) is planning to make payments to Ukrainian refugees in the country with the condition of their immediate return to Ukraine. According to SwissInfo, the sooner they leave the Confederation, the larger the assigned subsidy will be.
“Initial financial assistance is also being considered. The amounts of assistance may vary in the range from 1 thousand to 4 thousand Swiss francs (about $4.4 thousand – RBC). per person,” the SwissInfo publication said.
According to the publication, the Swiss authorities suggest that about 80 per cent of 70,000 Ukrainian refugees would prefer to leave Switzerland voluntarily. SwissInfo notes that the remaining 20 per cent=14 thousand people are likely to remain in the Confederation even after the end of the migration “protective” status S in 2024 or 2025.
