NBS: ex-Americans sue US for money given to get out of citizenship

Former American citizens have sued the US authorities to recover the money they paid for withdrawal of citizenship.

This is reported by the NBC television channel.

According to the TV channel, for some former citizens the price of renouncing this status was high for a long time.

“Now many of them want a refund by filing a class action lawsuit on Wednesday to try to get their money back,” – stated in the publication.

It is noted that today, to renounce U.S. citizenship, one must pay $2350.

At the same time, according to the article, the US State Department will soon reduce this amount to $450.
