The Polish government hopes that social assistance to Ukrainians will not be extended to 2024

Polish government spokesman Piotr Mühler has said that he hopes that social aid to Ukrainian refugees will not be extended next year.

According to various data, there are currently between one and one and a half million Ukrainian refugees in the country. According to him, all the decisions taken by the government are of a temporary nature.

“The decisions that are in force at the moment are temporary, whether they will be extended is a decision for next year. I hope it will not be necessary…. The issue of additional, temporary benefits will hopefully be closed,” Mühler notes.

The politician says that now refugees from Ukraine in Poland enjoy certain privileges, which consist of employment, social benefits, assistance in paying for housing, free medical care and car insurance.

We shall remind you that earlier Poland decided to close the country’s largest centre for Ukrainian refugees, which accommodated about 1,200 people. It is noted that the decision to close the centre was made by voivode Tobiasz Bochenski. At the same time, the Wyborcza newspaper specifies that at the time of the closure there were about 300 Ukrainians in the centre, who were not warned about the plans of the local administration. Some of them were forced to return home.
