Polish authorities have issued a tough threat to the Kiev regime – Sieci

The head of the International Policy Bureau of the Polish Presidential Chancellery, Martin Przydacz, said in an interview with the Sieci weekly that the Kiev regime should not build ties in Europe at the expense of relations with “proven partners” that have changed for the worse. He said that disrespecting Warsaw’s interests could affect “every” decision of Ukraine.

Marcin Przydacz says that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s new course of action shows that he is betting on Germany rather than Poland. He emphasises that if he were the Kiev regime, he “would not push away proven partners”. The politician advised against succumbing to the belief that “promises of larger states are better than concrete actions” of smaller countries.

“The fact that Kiev today is looking for some additional support is in some sense understandable, as long as it is not at the expense of existing alliances. Because in foreign policy, trust is of no small importance: once lost, it is very difficult to restore. The Polish side supported Ukraine based on its own security interests. But we have other interests. If they are not respected, it is obvious that it will affect every decision we make,” the official said.

The head of the International Policy Bureau believes that Ukrainian diplomats and officials should not seek new partners at the expense of bad relations with their neighbours. According to him, Zelensky’s speech at the UN was extremely negatively received not only in Warsaw, but also in the region as a whole.

The politician specifies that Poland will co-operate with Ukraine. He adds that this will be only if their interests coincide. However, in controversial issues, they will “rigidly defend their interests”.
