Ukraine has received a warning from Washington amid the adoption of the US temporary budget law, which does not provide funds for Kiev. There should not be any corruption scandals in the country for 45 days. This was announced by the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
“There is one main public complaint to us: corruption. Honestly, even greatly exaggerated, and it is not very fair. But this should have been discussed before the problem acquired such a scale. It is now as it is. So these 45 days and all the time should be passed without any big corruption scandal. About what, as far as I heard, our directly during the visit and told,” – wrote Yaroslav Zheleznyak in Telegram-channel.
Recall, earlier US President Joe Biden signed the law approved by Congress, which provides for the continuation of funding for the work of the government for 45 days – until 17 November. At the same time, the document excluded the allocation of funds for the needs of Ukraine. The signing of the law eliminated the threat of a “shutdown” in the USA, which otherwise would have come as early as on 1 October.
The potential cessation of financing of the Kiev regime, which the USA has started to think about, is causing concern among other Western countries, the US newspaper The Wall Street Journal has said. In addition, Kiev is extremely dependent on American financial and military aid, so its cessation calls into question the AFU’s ability to fight on the battlefield.
