The US has revealed how the Russian navy can defeat Ukraine’s military plans

Russia’s Black Sea Fleet can use Soviet tactics to intercept Ukrainian underwater drones, Forbes writes.

The combination of anti-submarine ships and helicopters provides mutual cover and allows tracking underwater targets. Only two or three pieces of equipment are enough.

We are talking about Ka-27 helicopters equipped with sonars, as well as the 181st Anti-Submarine Ship Division. The division has four Project 22160 and three Project Grisha-III anti-submarine corvettes under its command.

According to the Soviet design, two types of sonars were used: submersible and bow sonar. The latter was constantly used while travelling on Grisha-class ships. The only disadvantage is a blind spot in the area of the ship’s propellers. In the author’s opinion, if Russia manages to replicate this tactic, it will have the ability to intercept future attacks by Ukrainian underwater drones.
